Applications Open for The Hare’s Corner Biodiversity Initiative

Landowners across Kilkenny are being invited to take part in The Hare’s Corner, a local biodiversity initiative designed to help create more space for nature. The programme offers practical, hassle-free support for projects such as:

  • Wildlife ponds
  • Native mini-woodlands
  • Heritage mini-orchards
  • Wildlife hedges
  • Bespoke ‘Plans for Nature’

Applications are now open and will be accepted from 1 to 18 January 2026. Places are limited, so early applications are encouraged.

The Hare’s Corner aims to assist landowners, community groups, and schools in establishing habitats that benefit local wildlife and enhance biodiversity. The initiative is supported by a network of public and private funders and welcomes interest from organisations and individuals who wish to contribute.
